In "Mach K9", a wave based physics roguelite, players control a super powered futuristic ball controlled by spacefaring dogs to defend against an invasion of aliens.

This ball is a high-tech weapon developed by the canines' advanced civilization. The ball harnesses gravity-defying physics and energy-based powers, making it an unconventional but effective tool against the alien onslaught.

The ball can be upgraded with different abilities such as explosive shot, powerful thrusters, and more, allowing players to tailor their strategy to the situation at hand.

The invading aliens have evolved different attributes that the player must reckon with. Some soar into the air, while others bombard from afar.

Strategy, skill, and fast-paced action combine to create a roguelite experience unlike any other. Players must use the environment to their advantage, and skillfully control the metal ball to protect their canine companions.

Mach K9 is my first serious attempt at making a game and represents about a year of work between me, and others. I hope you enjoy this early alpha demo, join our discord community and participate in development. Your donations help fund development and keep the lights on.

We playtest every Sunday at 6pm PST to showcase the newest round of changes and gather valuable feedback we then use to refine the game.

I know the game has being hard to control in its DNA, but it just comes off as infuriating, unfortunate.

Hi, thanks for trying out Mach K9. Could you elaborate what part of the movement comes off as frustrating?

We've done many playtests with the same group of people, but limited playtests with new players and so I suspect things are not as well tuned for a first player experience as I would like.

The ball often feels uncontrollable, it goes too fast and doesn't steer responsively.

What active upgrade / passive upgrades did you take? Is this the ball at base form or after some amount of upgrades? There's plenty of tuning we can still do to make it feel better. Thanks!

At base form, I also noticed that the game lags on certain stages (possibly because of model numbers).

Thanks for your feedback, will look into performance issues and making the player feel more responsive without upgrades. I hope you'll try it again after some updates
